Meet Your Chiropractor and Coach
Dr. Luke Bergner, DC
In 2017, my life took a hard turn. Severe joint pain, brain fog, and vision problems hit me out of nowhere, and at 25 years old I wasn't sure if I'd ever get my health back. Being active was part of who I was. I'd grown up playing football and basketball, and as an adult I hiked, ran trails, and played pickup hoops. Lyme disease threatened to take all of that away.
I fought my way back through consistent strength training, better nutrition, managing stress, and getting serious about what I actually valued in life. That process changed me and pointed me toward a completely new direction. I decided to become a chiropractor.
I wish I could tell you the chiropractor who inspired me was someone I wanted to become. But honestly the opposite is true. Watching him practice is what showed me everything I didn't want to do.
I'll never forget two patients he saw back to back. The first was a woman in her 80s, frail and stiff, who moved like every step cost her something. He gave her his spiel, adjusted her in three spots, sent her to the traction table, and she was on her way in about ten minutes. The next patient was a woman in her mid-twenties, clearly fit, crossfitter written all over her. Same spiel. Same three adjustments. Same traction table. I looked at the schedule and saw hundreds of patients, all of them getting essentially the same thing.
I remember thinking this isn't medicine, this is an assembly line. And what bothered me most wasn't just the bad clinical reasoning. It felt unjust. Two completely different human beings with completely different bodies, histories, and needs, treated like they were interchangeable. I believe God wired truth into how the body heals and adapts, and what I watched that day didn't honor any of it.
So I committed to finding a better way. I found mentors who showed me what evidence-based, patient-centered care actually looked like. Strength and mobility work built around the individual, a real plan with a real timeline, coaching rather than just treatment. That's what Rebuild became, and it's what it still is today.
I work with active adults stuck in pain who are ready to learn, take action, and invest in long-term change. My mission is to give people living in chronic pain a clear path to saying yes to the things they want to do in life, and I take that seriously every single day.
If that's you, I'd love to meet you.
Active Member of the Greater Kansas City Community
I grew up in Overland Park and Kansas City has always been true home for me. My wife Meg and I are plugged into our church community here, and I'd be lying if I said my faith doesn't show up in how I practice. The same things I believe about truth and serving people well..those don't stay at the door when I walk into the clinic. Outside of work you'll find me running, lifting, playing basketball, or convincing Meg to go hit our favorite restaurant again even though we were there a few days ago. We share our home with our dog Jasmine, who is genuinely the happiest creature I've ever met. We have a beautiful daughter on the way and love, love, love being a part of this community!

"Luke has a great demeanor and extensive knowledge of treatment options...
"I came to Luke after experiencing some spasms in my lower back that caused intense pain and almost zero range of motion. I had experienced pain in this area for a long time but the symptoms had gotten to the point that I was no longer able to regularly function throughout the day. I felt like he cared about me and wanted to do whatever it took to get to the root of the problem. I am now pain-free and experience zero spasms or difficulty moving. I am so grateful for the care Luke provided!"
